Cutie Patootie!!

Just a short little post to share the newest photo of Kaya with her bunny, Violet.  I have been taking a photo of her and her bunny once a month since she was born. We started when she was about 2 weeks old and now she is 4 months and 2 weeks.
Here she is at 2 weeks.

And here she is now.

I also have to share this one.

She just has the cutest smile and when she smiles her whole face lights up. She looks so much like her Mommy when she smiles and when she is sleeping.

Have a great day!!

Made it!! :)

75_3 I did it!! I made my goal the first week of my weight loss plan. It was not easy but I did it and I feel so good about it. The number at the right is how much I lost last week.
I had set lots of goals for the week with the biggest being to lose 1.56 pounds. I actually made all of my goals that I set. I have learned in the past to set smaller goals and then it makes reaching the overall goal easier to attain. I set goals of things like, journal everyday, no eating dinner after 7 PM, no snacks after 9PM, exercise at least 4 days and drink more water.
I have set new ones for next week, with the biggest one being to lose 1.56 pounds. Some of the goals are the same as last week but they are just things that I need to do in order to stay on track. I hope that I can do it!!
I have learned so much about eating and such over the years as I have always battled my weight (in my adult years anyway), but the one thing that I haven not quite gotten figured out is how to keep it off. I just get bored with what I am eating and slowly slip back into the bad habits of eating unhealthy. I know what I need to do but it just never seems to work. I just lose focus.
On to working on the rest of this week. I can do it!!

A Quarter of a Century

Just wanted to wish my little girl a Happy Birthday. Kayla61408 It is so hard to believe that she is "a quarter of a century" today. All grown up and a wife and mother, time just goes way too fast.

The family got together tonight at my parents and we celebrated both Kayla's and Skylers birthdays. Skyler is my nephew and he is 22 they have all become adults.

We had taco salad, nachos, burritos and then for dessert there was cheesecake and black forest brownies. It was a good dinner and we all enjoyed each others company.

Tomorrow will be my weigh in to see how much I have lost his last week. I have done good with the food intake and have been exercising some almost everyday. I am just hoping for my goal of 1.56 pounds. I will post tomorrow and let you know how I did.

Have a great evening!!

When did I get so old??

That is the question that I am asking myself these days. I have been doing so good on my food intake. I have stayed at or a bit under points every day this week. It has not been easy and I know that the weekend will be a challenge but I am determined.  The food part is the easy part right now, the part that is killing me is the exercise.  Lesli, David, Tony and I have been walking. We started on Tuesday night and walked 3.5 miles. Lesli was out of town yesterday, so Tony and I went biking. We rode our bikes 7 miles and then tonight the 4 of us walked another 3.5 miles. Let me tell you I have muscles in places that I did not even know existed. I am just so old and out of shape.
Carry on--Carry on!!

Pink is the color

I am really into using pink right now. Hmmmmm could it be that little grand-daughter of mine??

I made this card using scraps from left over layouts. I love doing this. It just feels good to be more resourceful.  This card was created using this weeks sketch from Page Plans. It was designed by Lesli.

I also created this layout using this weeks sketch from Page Plans. It is one that I designed.

I just wanted to give a little background on the photo with Tony Baloney.  When Tony and I got married almost 17 years ago, Kenna started calling him Tony Baloney. When I saw the little boy with that shirt on last weekend, it made me think of Kenna and how much I miss her.  It is just one of those cute little things that kids do that you take for granted and miss when you don't hear it anymore. Tony always used to laugh when Kenna called him that and he would come back with "what do you want Kenna Wenna?"  We sure do miss you KENNA WENNA!!!!!!!

On a personal note, I have started doing the Weight Watchers program again. It is the only thing that I know that truly works (for me anyway). I am back to counting points, and walking. I am determined to lose the weight that I put back on in the last year. I will keep you posted as to how that it going. I would like to lose 25 pounds by my birthday and that is 16 weeks away. I have figured out that I need to lose 1.56 pounds per week to reach that goal. I am determined that I can achieve it!! Please send good thoughts my way to help me with the weight loss.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!

A little birdie

I made this card a few days ago. I have been looking of a cute bird stamp and found this one at Hobby Lobby. I have always like sparrows and we have a lot of them around my house. I also bought a new border punch from Wal-mart. Did you know that Wal-Mart is now carrying Martha Stewart Crafts products? I did not and was surprised to see them, anyway this punch is called Doily Edge and it is just beautiful.

Happy 4th of July

It has been a wonderful day. We spent the day with Kayla, Nick, Kaya, Renae and Del. We have had so much fun just hanging out and being together.

We started the day by having blueberry pancakes for breakfast. After breakfast we went to see if we could get Renae's car to start and luckily it was just a relay switch that needed to be replaced. A cheap and easy fix. After it was fixed we went to the park and looked at the chalk drawings and had hot dogs. The afternoon was topped off with a nap and just chillin. After Del got off work we went to the park for a picnic. It has really been such a wonderful day. Here are a few photos to share with you.

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!!

A little of this and a little of that...

It has been a wonderful weekend. We have been so busy and now Tony and I are sitting out on what is the start of our patio. We are just enjoying each others company and relaxing.

We have lived in our house for a very long time. He has been here for almost 30 years and I have lived her for 16 1/2. We have raised our children here and now it is just the two of us. At times it is lonely but for the most part we are learning to enjoy the empty nest. We have so many projects that we want to complete and the patio is one of them. For years it was an area beside our house that was the dog kennel, now that we no longer have  dog (Shasta has been gone for over a year now) we are going to make it into a patio area.

Anyway to make a long story short, we got a patio set this weekend and put it up. We want to be able to enjoy it for the remainder of the summer. This winter we will get it all figured out as to what exactly we want to do and then next spring we will begin working to make it into our little oasis. I would like to put in a small fountain so that I can hear the water running and maybe a small container herb garden.  Happiness, peace and tranquility, mmmmmm!!

I learned how to do collages with photoshop and have done a few of them. They are really quite fun. I have a couple to share. One of them is some of the flower photos that I have taken this year.

Flowercollage2
I just love Iris' so I thought that this would be a great collage. The bottom 4 are ones that are in my flower gardens and the top 2 are ones that were at DanWalt Gardens (where Levi and Robin got married). They are just such beautiful flowers.

The next one that I have to share is of Kaya. Every month I take a photo of her with her big bunny, Violet. I started doing this to show just how much she has grown. My plan is to do a scrapbook page when she is a year so that we will be able to see how much she has changed. I just can't believe that she is already 4 months old. Time just goes by way to fast!!
4monthswithviolet
Isn't she just the cutest little baby?? I certainly think so but then again I am a bit biased.

I made a scrapbook page and a card this weekend and will be posting them later on this week.

Have a wonderful evening and a great week.

Baskets of Happiness--Day 3

This is my last day to showcase the Baskets of Happiness  stamp set by gina K. I have had so much fun playing with this set. As I said in yesterdays post this card is my favorite. Hmmmmm could that be because it is purple? That is certainly part of the reason! I am not sure what the rest of the reason is, just simply I love everything about it.
